R350 grant Self Exclusionary Response Found

Some SASSA R350 Applicants have been declined with the reason being that “self Exclusionary Response Found “ appearing on the SASSA Status Check.

According to SASSA, this means information provided on the application form indicates that the applicant is already receiving support of funds more than R624 per month, which is the food poverty line that was set by Stats SA ,or stays in a government facility and therefore does not qualify for the grant.

Beneficiaries no longer need to answer questionnaires every three months to prove that they still qualify for the grant. However, each month the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) will check if the recipient is still eligible.
